Zucchini Stewed with Garlic

Rinse the zucchini (remove the peel from large zucchini), cut in half lengthwise, cut the halves into pieces that will fit together in a large frying pan. Squeeze the garlic, mix with salt and pepper, spread on the cut surfaces of the zucchini pieces. Cut the ham into tender strips. Melt the butter. Place the zucchini pieces cut-side down and brown lightly. Sprinkle the ham strips on top. Steam everything for a few minutes. Extinguish with the white wine. Cut the sage leaves into tender strips, sprinkle over the zucchini form. Steam for 15 min with the lid closed.

Tip: The flesh of young, small zucchini is much more tender than that of larger ones.
