For the zucchini casserole, sauté the diced onion and garlic in a saucepan with oil. Add the minced meat, also fry and add the tomato paste.

Add water, salt, pepper and herbs and simmer briefly. In the meantime, slice the zucchini lengthwise and add salt and pepper.

In a greased baking dish, place the zucchini slices side by side. Then spread the slightly cooled minced meat on the slices and then put another layer of zucchini slices on top.

Slice the tomatoes and place them on top of the zucchini. Finally, place the sliced cheese on top. Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes at 180 °C until golden brown.
