Instructions:

1. spread 4 slices of white bread thickly with powidl and cover with the remaining slices of bread.

Stir milk with vanilla from the pod, vanilla sugar, granulated sugar and a pinch of salt. 3.

3. beat the eggs loosely.

4. fold the potatoes through milk and egg and bake in hot butter until golden brown. Drain well on kitchen roll.

5. sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and garnish with vanilla sauce or on a fruit cake, if desired.
