For the porridge with apple, peel the apple, remove the core and cut into small pieces. Steam with about 150 ml water and the spices in a smaller saucepan over low-medium heat until soft – al dente or very soft, depending on your taste.

Remove from heat briefly and stir in the milk and then the oatmeal and let the whole thing simmer gently, after a few minutes turn the heat down to low and let it thicken to the desired consistency.

Stir occasionally to prevent anything from sticking. Mash the banana with a fork and stir into the almost finished porridge and let it sit for a short while.
