Instructions:

For the walnut taler, put the finely ground whole wheat flour in a bowl with the spices.

Apply butter in flakes, sprinkle with yeast and drizzle with honey. Quickly knead into a firm dough.

Form a roll of about 4 cm ø and chill in aluminum foil for 1 hour.

Cut into 5 mm thick slices and place on a greased baking tray.

Boil whipping cream, honey and butter for 5 minutes, add walnuts and stir.

Press a walnut half onto each dough slice.

Bake the walnut taler in the heated oven at 200° C for about 10 minutes.
