For the walnut stars, mix flour, salt and grated nuts. Knead sugar, egg yolk, margarine and maple syrup with the flour and chill the dough formed into a ball.
After 2 hours, knead the dough again and roll it out, about 5 mm thick. Cut out stars.
Beat egg and brush the stars, sticking pieces of walnuts. Bake the walnut stars in a hot oven (180 °C, middle shelf) for 10-12 minutes.
