For the sweet curd dumplings, grate butter or margarine until fluffy. Gradually beat in the egg yolks, add the curd cheese and mix in the eggs. Add salt, vanilla sugar, lemon zest, breadcrumbs and flour. Knead the mixture well and let it rest in the refrigerator for half an hour. Form dumplings and place in boiling salted water. Cover halfway and let steep for about eight minutes. Remove the dumplings and serve. Sprinkle with ground poppy seeds, sprinkle with sugar and pour over lightly browned melted butter.
