Flowers with a difference Edible flowers can not only refine the leaf salad or serve as a colorful decoration on the edge of the plate: They taste just as excellent fried, baked or in soup! Rodothea Seralidou has gathered a few flower recipes for you.

Rinse the zucchini flowers and remove the stems (stamens).

Mix the mince with the paradeis pulp, salt, pepper, cumin and herbs. Heat the oil and fry the onion until it is translucent. Add the minced meat mixture and roast for 5 min, stirring throughout. Carefully open the zucchini flowers and fill with the mince mixture. Twist the flower tops shut again and bake in the heated stove for 10 min. Add water if necessary. Just before serving, place feta cheese on top of the flowers.

Instead of minced meat, feta cheese or possibly precooked long grain rice can also serve as a filling. Zucchini flowers are available to order in selected delicatessens and grocery stores.

Our tip: It is best to use fresh herbs for a particularly good aroma!
