Mix the milk with the whipped cream and bring to the boil. Stir in the whisked yolks and simmer at low temperature for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

In the meantime, toast the diced bread in lard until golden brown and add to the soup.

Sprinkle with cinnamon, a good pinch of anise, ginger and sugar as desired and bring to the table.
