For the barley soup, put meat in cold water with the bay leaf and peppercorns. Clean the barley several times with cold water and add to the boiling meat.

Then let it simmer on low heat for 1.5 hours. Add chopped vegetables and simmer for another half hour. Finally, add the peas. If the soup is too thick, add water.

Simmer until everything is soft. Remove meat and season soup with salt. Serve hot sprinkled with parsley.
