Instructions:

Cream butter until creamy. Fold in vanilla sugar, sugar, lemon zest and eggs. Stir until the sugar no longer crunches.

Combine flour and baking powder and stir into batter.

Grease a cake springform pan or loaf pan and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour the dough into it.

Wash the cherries, dry well (if using cherries from a jar, drain) and spread evenly over the batter.

Bake on the lowest rack over medium heat until golden brown.
