For the potato soup, peel and finely dice the onion. Peel the potatoes as well, wash them briefly and cut them into cubes. Heat some oil in a pot and roast the onion in it until golden.

Add soup seasoning and potatoes and roast briefly. Add plenty of water and season with salt, pepper and ground lovage.

If necessary, add fresh lovage and cook briefly. Cook the soup until the potatoes are soft. Now mash everything well and season to taste. If necessary, add a little milk to make it thicker.

If it is too thick, just add some more water. If necessary, season again with salt, pepper and nutmeg and sprinkle with chives.

Serve the potato soup hot.
