For the potato pan, pre-cook the potatoes, peel and slice.

Preheat the oven to 180°C top-bottom heat. Cut the tasty smoked meat (e.g. from a smoked meat roller) into small cubes, as well as the onion and the green bell pepper into fine strips.

Mix the smoked meat, peppers and onion together. Whisk the sour cream with the eggs and season with salt, pepper and a little nutmeg.

Grease a baking dish with butter, and cover the bottom with potato slices. Then put a layer of the smoked meat on top, on top of that again potato slices, and so on.

Make as many layers as you like, but you should finish with a layer of potatoes.

Pour the sour cream mixture over the potato pan, sprinkle with cheese to taste and bake in the oven for 40 – 50 minutes until the mixture has set and is nice and crispy.
