For the peanut sauce, first peel and finely dice the onion and garlic.

Finely crush the peanuts in a mortar and mix with the onion and garlic.

Mix in the remaining ingredients, except the coconut milk, and season with salt, pepper and lemon juice.

Sauté the mixture in the heated peanut oil until it smells good and begins to dry out. Stir constantly because it burns easily.

Then pour in the coconut milk and let it reduce until it reaches the consistency of a sauce.
