A simple but delicious cake recipe:

1. cream the butter and gradually add the sugar, vanillin sugar, eggs and rum. Fold in the sifted flour mixed with baking powder alternately with the milk. Use only enough milk so that the dough falls heavily (tearing) from the spoon. Pour about 2/3 of the dough into a well-greased marble cake pan or loaf pan dusted with crumbs or flour, mix the sifted cocoa into the rest of the dough. Spread the dark batter evenly on top of the light batter, draw a fork through the batter in a spiral to create the marble pattern. Place the baking rack with the baking pan on the lowest rack of the oven and bake at a good medium heat for 50-60 minutes.
