Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 180 °C, grease a baking dish (approx. 23 x 23 x 5 cm).

Put the flour and baking soda in a bowl, add the sugar and mix it in.

In another bowl, beat the eggs and add the rest of the ingredients for the batter one by one and mix well.

Stir the liquid ingredients into the flour, pour the batter into the prepared pan. Butter one side of a piece of aluminum foil and cover the baking dish with it.

Bake the pudding in the oven for about 40 minutes, until it is lightly browned and nicely risen. It is important that it is baked all the way through or it will not absorb the sauce!

When the cake is almost done, heat the ingredients for the sauce in a saucepan. Make sure the sugar and butter are completely melted.

Remove the cake from the oven, remove the foil and pour the sauce over it. The cake is like a firm sponge and soaks up the sauce – serve warm if possible!
