Remove the seeds from the peppers, rinse them and cut them into long strips. Cut the tomatoes into eighths. Cut the onions so that half rings are formed. In a saucepan with a large base (frying pan), fry the bacon cubes without the pork rind in lard, add the onions and fry until golden brown. Quickly stir in the paprika and pepper and immediately add the peppers and tomatoes. Add salt and cook at high temperature at the beginning without the lid, and later at moderate temperature with the lid closed, when part of the juice has boiled away. In this form it can be used as an addition to various dishes. If the letcho is used as an independent dish, the sausages are cut into small wheels and cooked with it.
