Instructions:

Pluck bay leaves, coarsely crush cardamom. Rinse long grain rice and lentils thoroughly and cook according to package directions. Chop onion and garlic. In a heavy frying pan, heat the oil and sauté the onion and garlic, adding the bay leaf and cardamom. Add equal amounts of long-grain rice and lentils, mix well and cook until very hot all together. Season with pepper and salt.
