For the juicy poppy seed cake with pear, first separate the eggs.

Beat the mascarpone with the yolks, salt, cinnamon, icing sugar, vanilla sugar and the orange or lemon zest in a spacious bowl until smooth.

Peel, quarter and core the pears, if desired. Then cut them into finger-thick wedges.

Beat the egg whites until stiff, gradually add the granulated sugar and beat until the sugar has dissolved. Mix the poppy seeds with the flour and starch and fold into the mascarpone mixture alternately with the beaten egg whites. Pour the batter into the baking dish, smooth it out and place the pear wedges on top.

Bake the juicy poppy seed cake with pear in the Philips Airfryer at 165 °C for approx. 35-40 minutes.
