A great cake recipe for any occasion:

Cream butter in a baking bowl until creamy. Gradually add sugar and egg yolks. Mix flour with baking powder. Stir in alternately with buttermilk. Stir in salt, orange marmalade and gin. Whip egg whites in a baking bowl until very stiff. Stir in loosely at the end. Grease a 24 cm diameter cake springform pan well with light butter. Add batter and smooth out.

Place in the heated oven on the bottom rack.

Baking time: 75 min.

Electric oven: 180 °C

Gas stove: level 3
