Rinse the okra (also called ladyfingers in Jamaica), and cut the thin end 1 cm small. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Later, saute the onions and garlic in the heated fat until soft. Add the tomatoes and the chopped chili pepper and sauté for 5 minutes. Then add the okras, stir and season with salt. Then cook the vegetables for another 20 min. at low temperature.

Tip: Since the chili peppers are very hot, they can cause skin burns and irritation of the eyes. Evt.

better to work with gloves, in any case, you should then rinse your hands thoroughly! After washing the pods, remove the stems, cut in half and remove the seeds, which are exceptionally sharp. If you want to deseed the pods, you can soak them just as before in cold salted water for 1 hour.
