For the elderberry boil, bring water to a boil, add the chopped plums, the pear cut into pieces and the frozen (unfrozen) elderberries, as well as sugar and spices, bring to a boil and boil for about 5 minutes.

Stir the vanilla pudding powder with a little milk until smooth, add to the elderberries and boil for another 1 minute. Remove the elderberry boil from the heat and (to taste) remove the spices.
