Instructions:

For the eggnog waffles with cherry compote, first drain the cherries and collect the juice. Boil 200 ml juice with the wine. Mix cornstarch and new spice with 5 tbsp juice, stir into the juice and bring to the boil. Remove from heat. Add cherries and honey.

For waffles, beat cornstarch, butter, sugar and vanilla sugar until creamy. Fold in eggs and eggnog in order. Fold in flour. Preheat waffle iron, brush with oil and bake waffles in batches.

Serve eggnog waffles with cherry compote.
