Easter Plait with Apricots, Pistachios and Banana Chips

Instructions:

Finely dice the apricots.

Grate the zest from the orange and squeeze 6 tablespoons of juice, mix 3 tablespoons with the apricot cubes.

Chop the pistachios and banana chips.

Sift flour into a suitable bowl, add yeast, sugar, 1 pinch of salt, softened fat, egg yolks and lukewarm milk.

Knead everything together with the dough hook of the mixer to a smooth dough. Briefly knead in apricots, banana chips and pistachios with your hands. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 25 minutes with the lid closed.

Knead the dough well again and divide into 3 equal pieces.

Form each piece into a 30 cm long roll. Braid rolls into a braid, place on a baking sheet with baking paper. Let rise for another 15 minutes.

Then bake in the preheated oven on the 2nd rack from the bottom at 180 °C for 30-35 minutes.

Allow to cool slightly. Mix the powdered sugar and the remaining orange juice and coat the braid with it.
