Instructions:

Peel the oranges with a sharp kitchen knife (i.e. including the white skin, like an apple). Cut into thin slices.

Place the orange slices in a wide frying pan and sprinkle with sugar. Heat slowly and lightly for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and perfume with Grand Marnier.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Butter a baking dish, place the well drained orange slices in the dish.

Beat the egg whites until very creamy, then add the sugar and continue beating until the mixture is firm and glossy.

Stir through the egg yolks and vanilla sugar, form along the key edge to the snow, sift the flour over it and stir the whole thing in just right with a rubber scraper.

Form the dumpling mixture over the oranges and bake on the spot on the middle rack of the heated oven at 200 degrees for about 5 min.
