* Put the sugar syrup and butter in a saucepan, bring to a boil, add the cardamom, almond kernels and sugar in a wide bowl. Mix flour, cinnamon, ginger and baking soda, add to syrup mixture form. Add egg yolks and knead dough together. Cover and chill for about 1 hour.
* Roll out dough on a floured surface to 5 mm thickness and cut out hearts. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a heated oven at 190 °C (U: 180 °C /G: level 4) for approx.
Bake for 12 minutes, cool. Decorate hearts with icing, sugar decorations and pastry decorations.
Tip: For even more color, mix a little bit of food coloring into the icing.
