For the chocolate cake, warm the butter so that it is liquid but not hot. Soften the cooking chocolate. Whip the 6 egg whites into a snow and add a pinch of salt. Slowly stir half of the sugar into the beaten egg whites with the vanilla sugar.

Mix flour with baking powder, cocoa and nuts. Cream the yolks and slowly add the melted butter. Stir in the remaining sugar with the rum and liquid chocolate. Fold in the nut-flour-cocoa mixture and the beaten egg whites. Pour the mixture into a greased and floured cake pan and bake at 175°C on the lowest rack. After 3/4 hour, turn the oven down to 160°C and bake for another 15 minutes until the chocolate cake is ready.
