For the chard tomato sauce, pre-cook the beans in salted water for about 15 minutes. Cut the onion into cubes and the chard into strips.

Finely chop the garlic and squeeze the lemon. Peel the tomatoes and cut them into small pieces. In a large pot, sauté the onion until translucent.

Add the chard and sauté until it collapses. Add the garlic and tomato paste and turn everything briefly.

Then add the tomato pieces and the beans with the cooking water. Add salt and boiling water.

Bring to the boil briefly and simmer on low heat for about 30 to 45 minutes until the sauce is slightly reduced and thickened.

Season with lemon and remove from heat. Let the chard tomato sauce stand for about 10 minutes before serving.
