For the candied orange peel the oranges and remove the inner yellow and white parts of the orange peel. Place the orange peel pieces in a large enough bowl of water for a few days. Be sure to renew the water 2-3 times.

Boil the orange peels in salted water until soft. For the salt water, use only 1 tsp per 2 l of water. Strain the orange peels in a sieve.

Boil the sugar with the water until a syrup forms and threads. Boil the orange peels well in the syrup.

Remove the orange peels one more time with a slotted spoon and boil the syrup even more. Add the cooled orange peels to the syrup one more time and continue to boil for about 5 minutes.

Remove again and after draining, sprinkle thickly with sugar. After cooling, cut into thick strips, cubes or even figures.
