For the cabbage, cut the cabbage head in half. Cut out the stalk on both sides.

Wash the rest of the cabbage. Cut into strips about 3 cm wide and blanch.

Peel potatoes and cut into small cubes. Heat oil in a large pot. Fry onion and garlic until golden brown.

Place cabbage strips and potatoes in layers in the pot. Salt and pepper each layer and sprinkle with marjoram. Sprinkle the soup cube on top.

Cook until the cabbage is tender. Then mash through with a potato masher.

Season the cabbage with salt and pepper before serving. Sausages or boiled beef go well with the cabbage.
