Instructions:

For the cabbage soup, heat some butter in the soup pot – add bacon and onion and let onion turn golden brown.

Add garlic and sauté briefly. Deglaze with a shot of red wine, let reduce and pour in soup.

Add cabbage, tomatoes, potato, caraway seeds, paprika and paprika powder and simmer, covered, over medium heat until cabbage and potatoes are tender.

Increase heat and briefly add sausage. Depending on taste, thicken slightly with flour (mix a little warm water with flour) or cornstarch.

Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve the cabbage soup hot!
