A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Put flour and salt in a bowl. Crumble the yeast and stir with the water. Add the sugar and continue to stir until dissolved. Keep the yeast mixture warm and let it rise for 15 min with the lid closed. Press a bulge in the flour and add the yeast mixture. Using the dough hook of the hand mixer, mix the flour and yeast mixture until a smooth dough forms. Knead and roll the dough on a floured work surface until it is elastic and comes away from your hands. Form into a ball and rise with the lid closed for 60 min. Butter a loaf pan with a capacity of 1 1/2 -2 liters. Knead the dough another time for 6-8 min, roll it out to the width of the loaf pan, roll it up and place it in the pan with the seam facing down. Rise the dough in the pan for another 40-50 min.

Preheat the oven to 240 °C. Insert the broiler a little bit under the center and put the pan on the broiler. Bake the bread in 25 min until brown and cooked. Tap the bread – if it sounds hollow, it is well done.

Brush the bread with water and leave it in the pan in the open oven for another 1 minute. Then remove the bread from the pan and cool it on a cake wire.
