When the Bavarian speaks of Datschi, he always means a fruit cake made of yeast dough, which is baked on the baking sheet. Quite on the spot, whether plums, apples or blueberries come on the cake. At harvest time, a wonderful thing. But blueberry dachi you can bake just as in winter. Frozen blueberries make it possible.
Put flour in a large enough bowl. Press in a bulge, crumble in yeast and sprinkle sugar on top. Stir with a little bit of lukewarm milk and a little bit of flour from the edge to form a dampfl. Cover and let rise for 20 minutes. Then add the remaining light butter, milk, sugar in flakes, beaten egg and salt. Knead into a smooth dough.
Grease a baking tray. Roll out the dough. Pull up edges on all sides. Cover with a fresh kitchen towel and let rise for 20 minutes. In the meantime, quickly rinse blueberries in cold water. Remove stems and leaves. (Defrost frozen ones.) Drain on a colander. Also the frozen ones. Spread evenly on the dough.
Place in heated oven on middle rack.
Baking time: 35 min. Electric oven: 200 degrees .
Gas stove: level 4 or possibly just under 1/2 large flame.
Take out. Sprinkle with sifted powdered sugar while still warm. You can also use granulated sugar. Cut into 30 pieces.
