For the beer soup with pretzels, heat butter and fry onion in it. Grate pretzels from the previous day, fry briefly and pour in beef broth. Cover and steam for 10 minutes, add beer and cook for another 10 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper, finely chop chives, cut onion into rings and fry in butter until crispy. Arrange the beer soup with pretzels in plates and serve with chives and onion rings.
