(*) for an ovenproof dish of about 2 1/2 liters, greased, enough for 4 people : Preparation before and duration of preparation about 1 hour : Gratinating: about Fifteen min Roast bacon cubes in a large frying pan until crispy, remove, set aside.

Sauté the onions, garlic and savory in the same frying pan, add the beans and cook for about five minutes. Add the soup, bring to the boil, reduce the heat, simmer on low heat with the lid on for about fifteen minutes. Add the potatoes and continue to simmer with the lid on for about fifteen minutes. Add the bacon cubes, cream and half of the cheese, season.

Pour everything into the prepared dish, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.

Bake in the middle of the oven heated to 220 °C for about fifteen minutes.

Tips:

Instead of bacon cubes, use tree nuts, roast in a little butter.

The gratin can be prepared a few hours or 1 day in advance, keep it in the fridge with the lid closed. Only before serving gratinate, the gratinating time is then about twenty-five min.
