Instructions:

Waffles: Cream the butter with the sugar, add the milk, eggs, sour cream, rum, cinnamon, a little bit of vanilla pulp and a pinch of salt. Mix the flour and baking powder, then stir into the butter mixture with the walnuts and stewed apples.

Heat the waffle iron, spread the batter evenly on the iron in batches and bake for 3-4 min until crispy. Serve the waffles with powdered sugar.

Apple compote: remove the skin from the apples, remove the core and then cut the flesh into cubes. Caramelize the sugar in a saucepan, add the butter and pour in the apple cubes. Extinguish with wine or juice and lightly simmer. Add honey, spices and walnuts at the end.
