For the apple pie, peel the apples and cut them into pieces. Melt the sugar in a saucepan, add the apples and let them steam a little over low heat. Allow to cool.

Cream butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and salt, add eggs gradually and beat until firm. Mix flour with baking powder and gradually add to the butter mixture.

Grease the cake tin and sprinkle with flour, spread 2/3 of the dough in the tin, add apples on top and cover with the remaining part of the dough.

Bake in the preheated oven at 180 °C for about 45 minutes.
