For the apple dumplings, peel the apples and cut into small cubes. Add powdered sugar and cinnamon. Add salt, beaten eggs, flour and milk, as much as the mixture will take.

Mix well and let stand for about 30 minutes. Carefully form dumplings and cook very slowly in salted water. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs toasted in butter and sugar.
