For the apple crumble, first preheat the oven to 180 °C. Crumble butter, flour and baking powder in a large baking bowl and add sugar and cinnamon.

Remove the skin from the apples, cut them into cubes or wedges and place them in an ovenproof dish (or several small ramekins). Cover with the crumble, pressing down lightly. Bake in the heated oven for 45 minutes.

Divide the apple crumble into portions and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. If you like, you can garnish the crumble with a dried apple slice.
