Try this delicious cake recipe:

Grease a 24 cm ø cake springform pan. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (gas mark 2 to 2 1/2). Cream the butter with the sugar. Fold in the egg. Mix the flour with the baking powder and gradually fold in. Pour half of the batter into the pan and bake in a hot oven for about 15 minutes. Remove the base from the pan, place on a cooling rack and sprinkle with almond kernels, cinnamon and sugar. Bake the second base in the same way, sprinkle over and cool.

Remove the skin from the apples, cut them into quarters, remove the core and cut the quarters into wedges. Heat the wine, add the apple slices and steam for about 3 minutes until soft. Remove and thicken the liquid with the cake glaze. Pour the thickened juice onto a cake base and spread the apple slices evenly on top. Whip the cream until stiff and spread evenly over the apples. Place the second cake layer on top.
