For the cinnamon wreath, prepare the yeast dough according to the basic recipe. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about half a cm thick.

Mix soft butter, sugar and cinnamon. Spread the mixture on the dough. Roll up the dough widthwise. Cut the dough roll in half lengthwise.

Braid the two strands of dough into a braid and pinch the two ends together. Place the cinnamon wreath on a baking sheet and place an ovenproof dish in the center to prevent the wreath from “baking” together.

Bake the wreath for 20 – 25 minutes at 180 °C top/bottom heat. Allow the cinnamon wreath to cool slightly, sprinkle with sugar and serve.
