Instructions:

Toast bacon strips in a hot frying pan without fat on a medium gas flame until crispy, drain on kitchen roll and crumble. Clean iceberg lettuce, quarter, spin well, cut into very fine strips and place in a large bowl. Clean spring onions, cut into narrow rings, celery into narrow slices. Layer the prepared vegetables alternately with the bacon on top of the iceberg lettuce. Next, sprinkle the frozen peas on top. Spread the mayo over the lettuce so that it is airtight. Last, sprinkle evenly with cheese. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and let sit for 24 hours. When serving, remove the leaf lettuce from the baking dish “pie-like”.
