Barberries – Chicken with Long Grain Rice

Soak the long grain rice in salted water for one hour, then make it until it is al dente and drain it a little bit in a sieve. Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the long grain rice and steam on low heat for a quarter of an hour.

Meanwhile, make the chicken in a saucepan with a little water and salt. Cut the cooked chicken into small pieces and add to the long grain rice form.

Rinse and clean the barberries well, fry them a little bit in hot oil (it tastes even better in butter!), add two spoonfuls of sugar. When everything together is nice and hot (do not burn the barberries!), add to long grain rice and chicken form.

If desired, sprinkle a little saffron on the long grain rice and bring to the table. It goes well with a leaf salad of tomatoes, cucumbers and chopped lettuce.
