Instructions:

For the Christmas star at the beginning cut out a template from cardboard. For this cut out a rectangle with edge lengths of 31 and 36 centimeters. On it draw a star with six equal prongs and cut out. According to this template, cut a rectangular piece of parchment paper that is a little bit bigger.

For the honey cake batter, loosely mix the flour with the spices in a wide bowl. In another baking bowl, stir the farin sugar with the eggs. Warm the honey just slightly and mix it with the egg mixture. Add this mixture to the flour form and mix with a mixer until smooth. Remove a good half of the dough, roll it out on the parchment paper, place the template on it and cut the dough into a star. Keep the rest of the dough aside. Bake the star for about 15 minutes at 160 °C convection oven (180 °C top and bottom heat). It should not get dark, when the tips start to color slightly, the star is done. Then bake a second star with the remaining dough in the same pattern, keeping the remaining dough. When the stars have cooled, melt the cooking chocolate according to package directions and coat both stars with it.

For the chocolate confection, melt the dark chocolate, cooking chocolate and coconut oil in a water bath and stir until smooth. Mix the almond kernels and apricot strips and make a “fence” of the confectionery mixture using two teaspoons.
