For the butter cookies, knead a shortbread dough from the given ingredients. Wrap in cling film and chill for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 3 mm and cut out the cookies with a round cookie cutter. Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake on the middle shelf for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
