For the Striezel dissolve yeast and sugar in a little water. Pour flour into a large bowl, as well as eggs, salt and oil. Mix all ingredients.

Pour in the yeast-sugar solution and gradually add water. Knead the dough well. Form a ball from the smooth dough and place it in a bowl greased with a little oil. Cover with a tea towel and leave to rise for an hour.

Knead the dough again, then cut it into 3 equal pieces. on a floured tabletop, shape them with your hands into rolls of equal length. Braid the dough rolls into a braid. Push the ends well under the braid.

Oil a baking tray, place the braid on it, brush with the egg yolk, sprinkle with hail sugar or almond flakes. Let the braid rest again before placing it in the preheated oven. Bake at medium heat for 45-60 min until cooked and golden brown.
