For the germ soup, lightly fry the finely chopped onion in butter and mix with a little flour to make a roux.

Then add parsley and caraway seeds.

Finely crumble the germ cube and stir everything well. Pour beef broth over the mixture, bring to the boil briefly and season to taste.
