Instructions:

For the baked apple cinnamon buns, prepare the yeast dough. Mix water with yeast and sugar, add egg, salt, flour and milk. Mix the ingredients, then add butter and knead into a smooth dough in 5-7 minutes.

If needed, add a little more flour to make a smooth but not sticky dough. Roll the dough into a ball and sprinkle with a little flour. Let rise in the bowl until doubled in size, about 30-60 minutes.

In the meantime, prepare the baked apple filling. To do this, peel the apples and cut them into fine cubes (5 mm). Mix with sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice and simmer in a saucepan for about 5-10 minutes.

Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, brush with the soft butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Spread the baked apple filling over the top and roll up the dough.

Cut into 16 equal-sized snails. Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Place the tray in a cold oven, set it to 160 °C and bake the baked apple cinnamon buns for 30 minutes.
