Instructions:

For the wholemeal toast, mix the ingredients for the salt and yeast mixture until the yeast has dissolved and let stand for 30 minutes.

Then mix with the ingredients for the dough without spread and sugar and knead for 5 minutes. Add the spread and sugar in small portions.

Continue kneading until a smooth and elastic dough is formed. Form a ball and let it rise for 90 minutes in a warm place.

Then spread the dough on the work surface into a rectangle and roll it up. Cut the roll into 4 or 5 pieces and place them, twisted 90°, close together in the loaf pan.

Cover and let rise for 90-120 minutes. Preheat oven to 220 °C top and bottom heat.

When the dough has doubled in volume, place the pan in the oven. Bake for 10 minutes at 220 °C, then finish baking for 30 minutes at 210 °C.

Turn out the wholemeal toast immediately and allow to cool.
