A great cake recipe for any occasion:
It is important that the ingredients are all room warm.
Sift the flour into a suitable bowl and make an indentation.
Crumble the yeast into the hollow, pour a cup of lukewarm milk and a teaspoon of sugar over it. Stir with a little flour from the edge of the bowl to form a dampfl.
Let the dampfl rise for half an hour.
Then knead dampfl with the flour, remaining milk, lukewarm butter, eggs and sugar into a tough dough.
Roll out dough into a rectangle about 1/2 cm thick, sprinkle with previously washed raisins, sugar and cinnamon. Roll up dough from the long side.
Let the roll rise for another half hour.
Place the roll in a ring shape on a greased baking tray and bake on the middle rack at 225 °C for about an hour until golden brown.
